Blue light is the spectrum known as high energy visible (HEV) light, which is 400 nm to 500 nm.
Blue light is harmful to our eyes and has been known to impact the production of melatonin, our sleep hormone. The sun is the biggest source of blue light and exposure to outdoor sunlight is good for our health.
However, indoor or over-exposure can be harmful to our eyes and overall health. How come? The sun emits the full range of blue light from 400 nm to 500 nm, whereas artificial light emissions peak around 455 nm.
